Alisia Waller | |
Alisia Waller is a fight and dance choreographer, physical comedian, dancer, drag performer, stage fighter, video and performance artist and sometime sculptor and comix artist. She co-founded the And So No Sin Performance Troupe, which she also directs, in 1997, at age 17. And So No Sin is a loose group of performers and collaborators rounded up to bring to life Ms. Waller's creative vision.

Ms. Waller studied dance as a child in Washington state and the Caribbean, and in her early teens joined the Inwood Ballet Company of West Virginia and studied modern dance under Liz Bergman at the Conservatory of Shenandoah University. She studied performance art with Mari Novotny-Jones at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (where she joined the Museum School Cheerleaders, lecturing with them at Universities and touring to Washington DC) and performed in an experimental musical at the Philly Fringe Festival.

She has been a guest director for the Grindhouse Marionettes and had her choreography commissioned by DIVA Dance-Theatre. She has had a public art piece comissioned by the Fort Point Cultural Coalition and has had her work performed at Mobius Arts Space, The New Art Center, Midway Cafe, The Devanaughn Theatre, The Dance Complex, City Hall Plaza, Roxbury Community College, Jacques Cabaret, MIT, Boston University Playwright's Theatre, neighborhood barbeques, the Fens, the Commons and down Newbury Street, among other spots. She has also had her visual art featured at Studio Soto on the Fort Point Channel. She has served as a fight choreographer and stage violence consultant for films and plays and is a member of the Mobius Artists Group.

Her skills and interests encompass movement, dance, combat, narrative, video art, punk rock, drag, spoken word, improvisation, choreography, chance-based art-making, comix, sculpture, comedy and coversation-as-art. Ms. Waller lives at Seedpod Coop in Dorchester with her partner Bushido, her school bus Grace and her cat Miss Kitka, the Russian Spy.
